Two years after it was originally postponed due to the pandemic, the T20 World Cup was back at the iconic MCG.
We created a once-in-a-lifetime bookable experience in a place cricket fans would not expect – the legendary MCG, ensuring our campaign was unique enough to make it stand out and be newsworthy. The concept needed to go above and beyond just ‘a stay’ and lean more into experiences.
Sports fans often dream about creating their own theatre or high-end ‘den’ space to enjoy games from the comfort and luxury of their own home, so we worked with our cricket ambassador and Australian captain Pat Cummins to create the Unforgettable Legends Lounge. We took inspiration from Pat’s ultimate cricket-watching environment (his home), and some of his favourite things to do, to ensure this stay helped our cricket fans live like a cricket legend.
We transformed a regular corporate hospitality suite into the ‘Unforgettable Legends Lounge’ – and listed it on Booking.com. One lucky Booking.com customer, and cricket fan, was given more to cheer about – the opportunity to live like a cricket legend at the MCG and stay the night of the tournament grand final. Complete with a luxurious space, they were treated to a relaxing pre-game massage and gourmet food and beverage experience, including an on-demand bartender and personal chef.
In the lead-up to the overnight stay, we hosted media from a range of lifestyle titles and influencers at the Unforgettable Legends Lounge so they could see how ‘it starts with a booking’ firsthand.
